Unleashing the Kraken… and the Paintbrushes!

🎨 Our First Agitated Kraken Miniature Painting Competition Was a Blast!

We’re still buzzing from our first-ever Agitated Kraken Miniature Painting Competition, held at the Canterbury Gaming Convention on 9th & 10th August 2025 at the Kent University Indoor Tennis Hall, Canterbury.

Thank you to everyone who painted, cheered, and made the event such a huge success!

At Agitated Kraken Miniatures, we love seeing the creativity our community brings to the hobby. This being our first competition, we had no idea what to expect — and wow, the response completely blew us away.

Creativity Everywhere

Even though participants had a limited selection of miniatures, the results were incredible. Every painter brought their own style — from bold, eye-catching colors to subtle, realistic tones, and some truly imaginative basing ideas.

It was amazing to see how the same miniature could turn out so differently depending on each painter’s vision. Miniature painting really is all about creativity!

More Demand Than We Expected

We were thrilled by the turnout — honestly, it was bigger than we (and even the convention organisers) expected. Thanks to We Love Collectibles, who were vital in providing additional miniatures and resources to help everything run smoothly. We couldn’t have done it without them!

Listening and Improving

With so many participants, we ran into a couple of hiccups:

• We ran out of paintbrushes faster than expected

• We supplied a limited colour palette

Your patience was amazing, and we’ve been taking notes! The exciting part? Agitated Kraken Miniatures is now sponsored by The Army Painter®, who have given us extra brushes and a wider range of paints for future events. This means the next competition will be even better!
